Simple Knit and Purl Cowl Pattern

I just can't get enough of simple cowl patterns that I can knit up in an afternoon or evening.  I'm always trying to create something beautiful and simple that you will actually see me sporting around town.  This cowl was a quick creation that I made the night before I knew we were spending the day downtown with the kids -- nothing like the threat of a cold Chicago day to get me knitting!

Materials
* 29” 15.00mm circular knitting needles
* 2 Skeins Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick yarn or another super bulky weight yarn (1 skein = 6 0zs/170g/108yds/98m) Color pictured is Oatmeal
* Scissors
* Tapestry needle to weave in ends

 Measurements
About 30 inches in circumferences and 23 inches long.

 Gauge
7 stitches and 10 rows = 4 inches (note that gauge isn't that important when knitting a scarf)

This is a very simple pattern that creates a unique look by the way the garment rolls on either end with the simple bind off.  The garment is meant to roll and will not lay flat.  You'll be completing stockinette stitch on the right side for half the width and then stockinette stitch on the wrong side for the last half.
